Anne Boleyn is off the needles! It is a Starmore pattern. Jade Starmore from the book Tudor Roses. My second favorite knitting book EVER printed!!!
I knit her in the original colors using Jamieson's Spindrift. I started this sweater April 2010...got her off the needles May 2011.
I used a size three for the whole sweater. I am sewing on buttons this weekend, but I couldn't contain my excitement and joy any longer. I had to share..had to share..had to share!
I never grew tired of knitting this sweater. I loved every minute of it and did not even rush to get the button band done. I did not want to knit back and forth in Fair Isle for the band, so I put a few steek stitches in at the bottom and knit in the round and cut it after. This did create an excess of fabric in the corners. I was fearless and just cut more fabric off. Fingers crossed that I will never see a frayed edge there.
The buttons (not pictured) are fleur de lis antiqued brass. A sweet touch. I hope to post a final picture with me in it soon!!!
Thanks to many Ravelry folk who aided me in making this sweater, from the gift, to answering questions and to cheering me on, you are all so very fabulous!!! (sorry as a Fair Isle Newbie, I still like to make acceptances speeches).
Here are some not so exciting photos to share, but what the heck.
