Hello and Happy July 1, 2011
I have been spinning and knitting so I have photos to share. I know I caught everyone up on Anne B. last blog post. She still does not have buttons, but that is because there is no chance to wear her until the end of the year and I am procrastinating.
Okay, let's move onto some new photos.
The next Fair Isle I put on the needles is Katherine of Aragon by Jade Starmore from Tudor Roses.
I love these colors and the pattern is pretty easy once you get moving.
I finished the little blue sweater (to arrive November 2o11). I am going to redo the embroidery on the flowers. I am not really happy with them. And of course some Daisy buttons too!! I need to whip out a hat for this sweater too!
And a Rose Hat for Abby Rose. (my own pattern)
Here is my Celaeno Shawl. I am to the lace section now. Sparkly sparkly. I will need to pick up more beads tomorrow.
Oh and here are my little mitts. I love them. I made them out of my handspun! They are very near and dear to me.
I adore them. ( I think I mentioned that).
They are made from This pattern (free on Ravelry). The Rosewood is Fatcat Fiber in the colorway Rosewood, the fiber is Faulkland. I had fun spinning this fiber. I spun it right from the braid. I have also made another little hat for the grand daughter. It is so little and cheerful. I have enough for socks I do believe. Baby socks, of course.
I was really proud of this fiber at the time. But time and experience has revealed some flaws of the finished product. Guess what? I still don't hate it.
Before we knew pink or blue,I started these little socks. I am halfway done with the sock two. I really should whip that up today.
In May I got Swallowtail off the needles. Finally. She is a beauty. Classic Elite Silky Alpaca lace. Very light and soft. It went to my Mom.
Well... that is a lot of what I have been doing with my hands. I have even more to add, but I will cut this off for now. I have a lot on the spinning front to share. I will add tidbits during Tour De Fleece which starts tomorrow. It is a group spinning activity on Ravelry where every spins their wheels and spindles while the Tour De France is going on. Just a little fun spin a long.
Have a great weekend. Happy Four of July for all my fellow American friends
